Marburg`s iGEM team wins competition in Boston
Students of Philipps-Universität Marburg and the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology won the international competition in the field of Synthetic Biology
Over 300 teams from universities around the world participated in this year’s iGEM competition in Boston, USA. The best team comes from Marburg: With their project „Vibrigens – Accelerating Synbio“, 19 students from various disciplines of the Philipps-Universität Marburg and the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology have developed a new tool in molecular biology and synthetic biology that makes it possibly to carry out research more than twice as fast as before. With this project the team convinced the jury, which consists of members of the scientific community of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, and won the competition.
