IT Service Desk

The Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology has developed a modern IT infrastructure in close collaboration with the University Computer Center (HRZ) at the Philipps-Universität Marburg. The IT Service Desk is currently working to further improve the IT infrastructure.

The IT Service Desk consists of five people and supports a network with about 300 end users and is the contact point for all questions relating to IT support in the following areas:

  • Server, storage, network
  • User administration and access authorization
  • User support
  • Data security and privacy protection
  • Data acquisition and activiation of measuring devices
  • VPN access
  • Print, scan and fax
  • WLAN access for staff and guests
