On the 1^stand 2^ndof April, the 3^rd“It Ma(t)Ter(s)” Conference was held in Marburg.  Here doctoral researchers and early carrier researchers had the chance to present and discuss their work on microbiology in multiple talk and poster sessions. [mehr]

"While writing a PhD is a unique life opportunity and most doctoral researchers start off their journey with great passion for science and the aim of making a difference, the road towards a successful PhD might be very bumpy. Whether or not these bumps will turn into opportunities for growth does not only depend on the doctoral researcher but also on his/her work environment: in order to flourish, researchers need healthy and supportive work environments. Nature Communications is an online-only journal that publishes high-quality research from all areas of the natural sciences. Senior Editor César Sánchez will provide a brief overview of the Nature family of journals, and will describe the editorial procedures for publication in Nature Communications. [mehr]

IT MA(t)TERs ist eine Konferenz mit dem Schwerpunkt marine und terrestrische Mikrobiologie, die gemeinsam von der Promovierendenvertretungen aus Marburg und Bremen organisiert wird. Der letzte Stammtisch des Jahres 2020 fand am 17. Dezember statt. Wie der vorherige Stammtisch fand auch das X-mas Gathering online statt und wurde von vielen Forschenden in schicken Pullovern besucht. Bei der Veranstaltung gab es Gruppenspiele, ein Wichteln und jede Menge Spaß. [mehr]

Nachdem der persönliche Kontakt eingeschränkt wurde, musste der traditionelle Stammtisch ein Online-Format annehmen. Am 26. November 2020 organisierten die Promovierendenvertreter ein virtuelles Bingo für Forschende, um außerhalb des Labors gemeinsam Spaß zu haben und den Kontakt zwischen Menschen aus verschiedenen Laboren/Abteilungen zu fördern.
