Hi! I am Markus, and a PhD student in the Erb group.

I am interested in membrane proteins and their huge potential outside of living organisms. I, especially, focus on the neo-functionalization of synthetic membranes and the necessary tools to accomplish it.

Therefore, I use a combination of cell-free expression systems and native membrane protein biogenesis routes.
