Main Focus
My project focusses on metabolic engineering of Methylorubrum extorquens PA1. Currently I'm working on the establishment of CRISPR interference in M. extorquens, targeting the Ethylmalonyl-CoA Pathway to access its intermediates and to yield the respective carboxylic acids through the employment of different thioesterases.
