Service

The scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology are supported by several service facilities. These groups are under permanent development according to new requirements of the scientist.

The Administration manages the day-to-day business of the Max Planck Institute and supports the Board of Directors in preparing and implementing decisions. The administration provides services for all employees of the MPI-TM. It includes teams for human resources, accounting and purchasing, travel management, laboratory safety and security, and building services and construction coordination.
Core facilities are essential to enable scientists to achieve ambitious research goals and to increase the efficiency and productivity of scientific research. Our core facilities are open to all researchers at MPI-TM and beyond. Each facility is managed by a Head of Facility, who is responsible for daily operations and for providing a high level of user service.
The IT Service Desk is dedicated to solving problems and ensuring productivity. Its responsibilities include server, storage and network management, user administration and support, data security, software services and communications. Its team strives to ensure that users receive the right help in a timely manner.
The Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology operates a library together with the Department of Biology at the Philipps-Universität Marburg.
